چکیده

Sensitivity analyses have been long used to assess the impacts of uncertainties on the outcomes. Several approaches have been suggested, but it has been problematic to get a quick overview of the total impact of the uncertainties. Here it is suggested that interval analyses could be used for global sensitivity analyses and a nuclear emergency case is used to illustrate the method. With intervals the decision maker can include all the possible uncertainties and quickly estimate their combined impact on the outcome. This is especially useful in high-risk decisions where this type of worst case analysis is essential. By varying the intervals it can also be examined which uncertainties have the greatest impact and thus which factors possibly need more consideration. A global sensitivity analysis reveals how stable the outcome is to many small simultaneous variations in the

Using intervals for global sensitivity and worst-case analyses in multiattribute value trees

Sensitivity analyses have for long been used to assess the impacts of uncertainties on outcomes of decision models. Several approaches have been suggested, but it has been problematic to get a quick overview of the total impact of the uncertainties. Here we show how interval modeling can be used for global sensitivity analyses and a nuclear emergency case is used to illustrate the method. The a...

Estimation of Flow Zone Indicator Distribution by Using Seismic Data: A Case Study from a Central Iranian Oilfield

Flow unit characterization plays an important role in heterogeneity analysis and reservoir simulation studies. Usually, a correct description of the lateral variations of reservoir is associated with uncertainties. From this point of view, the well data alone does not cover reservoir properties. Because of large well distances, it is difficult to build the model of a heterogenic reservoir, but ...

A Compromise Ratio Ranking Method of Triangular Intuitionistic Fuzzy Numbers\ and Its Application to MADM Problems

Triangular intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (TIFNs) is a special case of intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) set and the ranking of TIFNs is an important problem. The aim of this paper is to develop a new methodology for ranking TIFNs by using multiattribute decision making methods (MADM). In this methodology, the value and ambiguity indices of TIFNs may be considered as the attributes and the TIFNs in compa...

Evaluation of Optimal Fuzzy Membership Function for Wind Speed Forecasting

In this paper, a new approach is proposed in order to select an optimal membership function for inputs of wind speed prediction system. Then using a fuzzy method and the stochastic characteristics of wind speed in the previous year, the wind speed modeling is performed and the wind speed for the future year will be predicted. In this proposed method, the average and the standard deviation of in...
